Adolescent Therapy

The experience of being an adolescent or teenager today is different than it used to be.  Growing up is hard enough on its own, but it can be even tougher when adolescents and teens face experience struggles like social anxiety, bullying, struggling to build friendships with others, and other social challenges. Additionally, rates of anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges have skyrocketed for young people, with the NIH estimating that 1 in 4 people between ages 12-19 have a mental health challenge that needs treatment.  Harborlight Counseling understands the need for accessible, developmentally appropriate mental health services for teens and adolescents. Our clinicians have extensive experience working with young people at multiple levels of care, and are experts at providing a safe space for adolescents and teens. With appropriate treatment, young clients are able to express their emotions and thoughts without judgement, gain insight into their identity, draw upon and develop their strengths, and dissolve obstacles preventing them from becoming who they want to be. Additionally, early intervention can help prevent more serious mental health problems later in life.
